Maria Christophorou

Like her doppleganger, Aphrodite, Maria originates from Cyprus though in a slightly more conventional manner. Maria headed across the ocean to study Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and subsequently obtained PhD with Gerard Evan at the University of California, San Francisco studying the most important gene in the genome, p53, and it's mechanism of tumor suppression. Having conquered p53 and the New World, Maria returned to the Old World to boost the Kouzarides group Cypriot quota and to take on Mount Everest and the Gurdon Institute Fantasy Football League. In both she reached base camp.
