Post-doctoral fellows

If you are interested in joining the lab as a postdoc, send an email to Julie Ahringer outlining your research interests. Also include a CV that contains the contact details of at least two people who can provide a letter of reference for you. Post-doctoral funding is sometimes available, but it is expected that postdocs will apply for independent funding.

PhD students

If you are interested in joining the lab as a PhD student, write to Julie Ahringer outlining your research interests. Also send a CV that contains the contact details of at least two people who can provide a letter of reference for you. PhD students are funded by a variety of routes. Some PhD studentships are available through the Department of Genetics, our home department (e.g, Gates, CHSS, Cambridge Trust, CISS). Other students are funded by external fellowships, often obtained from their home countries. We are also part of two Wellcome Trust 4-year PhD programmes (Developmental Mechanisms, Mathematical Genomics and Medicine), and we participate in the BBSRC Doctoral training programme. These latter options entail direct applications to the programmes and rotations during the first year.
